About UPES University Dehradun:
University of Petroleum and Energy Science, Dehradun was established in 2003 under the UPES Act passed by the Government of Uttarakhand. It is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) which is a government organization that provides final assistance to the universities that are eligible under section 2(f) in Act 12(B), 1953 of the UGC Act. The university is also an active member of AIU (Association of Indian Universities) and Accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. UPES Dehradun is also a major knowledge partner of Niti Aayog in the energy sector.
The UPES University Dehradun campus is allocated in a very scenic location of Dehradun and spread across 44 acres of the land. The university has two campuses in The city separated as UPES Kandoli and UPES Bidholi. It was started to provide standard-level education in the field of computer science, data science, petroleum, engineering, and graphics. UPES also provides a 4-week study program in Berlin or Vancouver free.

UPES University Eligibility Criteria:
UPES university has different eligibility criteria for different courses:
Eligibility criteria for UG Courses
1.Admissions in some Undergraduate courses are completely merit-based, however, there are other undergraduate courses for which the candidate has to meet the eligibility criteria.
2.Admissions in BA LLB(Hons), B.com LLB(Hons), BBA LLB (Hons) is completely based on ULSAT/LSAT/CLAT scores along with Group Discussions and PI.
3.For B.pharm Programmes, candidates need to have an eligible score in NEET UG/UPESDAT along with a PI round.
4. To take admission in BDes, candidates need to score qualifying marks in UPESDAT/ JEE Main/ UCEED followed by Portfolio presentation and PI.
5. To enroll in a B.tech course, UPESEAT/JEE Main scores are mandatory.
Eligibility criteria for PG Courses:
- To take admission in MDes Courses, the candidates must score eligible marks in UPESDAT along with a Portfolio presentation and Personal Interview.
- Admission to MBA programs is based on your scores in UPESMET/MAT/XAT/CAT/GMAT/NMAT along with GDPI.
- Admission to other PG courses is given based on the merit list.
Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D. course
Admission in Ph.D. programs is offered based on UGC NET/RET scores along with personal Interviews.
UPSE Admission Process:
To apply for admission, the candidate needs to register on the university's official website and complete the registration process. If you are planning to take admission in UPSE Dehradun, you need to take the following steps:
1. Visit the university’s official website www.ups.ac.in.
2. A homepage will appear on the screen, click on the tab “Apply Online”
3. An application fees of Rs 1350 is charged by the college, pay the application fee via Netbanking, Credit card, debit card, or E-wallets
4.Now you will be asked to enter your academic details, Enter the details required.
5. Upload the required documents in pdf format along with your passport size photograph in JPEG, JPG Format.

UPES Scholarships:
There are 10 types of scholarships offered under all the programs (UG as well as PG). The amount of scholarship differs from course to course. These are some basic details about these Scholarships:
UG AND PG course Scholarships
- BDes students need to score an aggregate percentage of 80 percent in Class 10th and 12th to get a scholar of50 per Fee waiver in the first semester only.
- LLM students can also get a 50% fee waiver scholarship if they aggregate 75% marks in class 10th, 12th, and graduation.
- BPharm, DPharm, BSc(Hons), BCom, BSc, BBA, BCA students will be eligible for a 50 percent fee waiver scholarship if they have an aggregate score of 75% in Class 10th and 12th.
- MSc. (Hons), MA and MDes students are also eligible to get a 50% fee waiver scholarship for their 1st semester if they have scored an aggregate of 60 percent in class 10th 12th and graduation.
Scholarships offered in BA LLB, BBA LLB, and B.com LLB courses
- If the student secures 1st to 1000th rank in CLAT along with a percentile more than 95.01, then he/she will get a 100% tuition fee Scholarship.
- If the student secures 1001st t to 2000th rank in CLAT along with percentile 90.01 to 95, then he/she will get an 85% tuition fee Scholarship.
- If the student secures 2001st t to 3000th rank in CLAT along with percentile 85 to 90, then he/she will get a 75% tuition fee Scholarship.
- Also, LLB students can avail of a scholarship of a 50% tuition fee waiver if they have secured an aggregate of 75% in the 10th and 12th exams.
Btech Scholarships:
The scholarships offered to B.tech Students are based on their 10th, 12th, and JEE Main Scores.
1.If the student has scored a percentage more than 95.01, then he/she will get a 100% tuition fee Scholarship.
2. If the student scored a percentage from 90.01 to 95, then he/she will get an 85% tuition fee Scholarship.
3. If the student percentage is from 85 to 90, then he/she will get a 75% tuition fee Scholarship.
4. BTech students are also awarded a Merit-Based scholarship If they successfully manage to score 80% of the aggregate percentage in their 10th and 12th class in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. This Merit-based scholarship offers a 50 percent tuition fee waiver.
M.Tech Programme Scholarships
Scholarships in Mtech Programme are awarded based on their GATE scores. If the candidate scores more than 70 percent in the GATE exams, then he/she will be eligible to get a scholarship of Rs12,400 per month, with the continuance condition of securing 8.0 CGPA/SGPA in each Semester.
MBA Scholarships
Scholarships in MBA Programme are awarded based on their CAT exam percentile.
1.If the student has scored a percentage more than 95.01, then he/she will get a 100% tuition fee Scholarship.
2. If the student scored a percentage from 90.01 to 95, then he/she will get an 85% tuition fee Scholarship.
3. If the student percentage is from 85 to 90, then he/she will get a 75% tuition fee Scholarship.
4. Candidate who have secured a minimum 90 percentile in MAT/ NMAT/ UPESMETor minimum 80 percentile in CAT/ XAT or any other national-level entrance test, are eligible for a 25% tuition fee waiver in the first semester
Scholarships for Female Candidates: The tuition fee waiver of 25% is offered to all the girls taking admission in any UG or PG course for the entire duration of the course. The student must maintain an attendance of 75% for the continuance of the scholarship.
Scholarships for Uttarakhand Board Toppers: Students passed out from Uttarakhand Board with an aggregate percentage of 80% in their 10th and 12th are also offered a scholarship in NTech, BBA LLB (Hons), BA LLB(Hons), and BCom LLB (Hons). In this scholarship, Boys are awarded 25% of the fee and 35% to girls in their 1st year of the course.
